The 2014 Cheltenham Open Meeting got off to a flyer yesterday, and whilst we said it was a tough day to pick the winners, we still returned a healthy profit.
From the 6 selections we tipped up two winners (8/1 and 4/5) and two 2nds (7/1 and 15/8). So if you’d had £10 win (or £5 E/W where advised) on all our selections you’d be £31.75 richer. Not bad for such a tough card to call.

Picking the winners looks a difficult task so we’d advise keeping stakes pretty low as there will be better things to come over the next couple of days.

Bet365 are one of the only bookies to offer Double Result betting on darts and there seems to be some value around!

Not a great deal of footy action to get stuck in with the Internationals on the horizon, but there are 3 bets we like the look of, and a best-priced treble would pay over 5/1 with William Hill. Not bad considering they all look pretty solid bets!

HI GEORGE (7/2, Bet365) runs in the 2m 4f Hellens Group Handicap Chase at Sedgefield today, and could turn out to be a huge price if his jumping holds up.
He saw off Holywell in his last start and that was on his chasing debut, so should have improved since.
Holywell is now a Grade 1 winner rated 163 and the 2nd fav for this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.

If you though that Jamie Spencer’s last ride on British soil had passed… you would be wrong.
Instead the former Champion flay jockey will make an appearance at Lingfield’s jumps card on Tuesday to ride in the 2m ‘Flat Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle.
His last National Hunt ride came in the 2008/9 season, but Spencer has previously tasted Cheltenham Festival success aboard Pizarro in the 2002 Champion Bumper. [Read full article »]
