The search is on for a punter sitting on a potential £650k!

A betting shop punter is potentially sitting on a £650,000 fortune… and may not even know it!

The Totescoop6 punter has already ‘scooped’ the win fund of almost £400,000 by selecting all six winners in the popular weekend TV bet, but also has the chance to go for the bonus fund, which stands at a staggering £251,996!

The £2 bet was placed in a shop in Newcastle and Totepool are urging people in, and around, the surrounding area to check their bets and ask anyone who may have placed a bet to do the same in the hope of finding the lucky winner. [Read full article »]

Van Persie odds-on to leave before start of season

Now that Euro 2012 is drawing to a close, eyes turn towards the start of the new Premier League season, and more importantly, who will come and go between now and August 18th.

One of the biggest ongoing ‘will he’/’won’t he’ sagas involves Arsenal’s star striker Robin Van Persie.

Arsene Wenger has been quoted as saying they won’t let him go, whilst RVP has himself mentioned his “love” of Arsenal. That said bookmakers Paddy Power still make him 4/6 to leave during the Summer transfer window (11/10 to stay), with Man City favourites to bag his signature.

Mancini would sureley love to add an out-an-out goalscorer to his squad and Paddy Power make them 2/1 to be Van Persie’s next club. [Read full article »]

Wiggins 5/4 to win his first Tour de France

The 99th Tour de France gets underway this weekend and Britain’s Bradley Wiggins heads the betting (5/4) to bag his first title with Paddy Power.

To win, Wiggins will have to battle his way through 20 grueling stages, concluding with a finish at the Champs-Elysees in Paris on the 22nd July, but comes into this event in great form, winning three of his last five races.

He crashed out of last years event, and the Team Sky rider will be looking to prove the doubters wrong this time around. And with Team Sky built around Wiggins, the 5/4 looks like a great price.

Defending champion Cadel Evans will be looking to follow up on last year success however and is 9/4 to make it back-to-back wins. Evans is the only rider who has come close to beating Wiggins in the recent time-trials, but he is miles away from the type of form he was coming into last years Tour de France. Super Mario now 11/8 to win Euro 2012 Golden Boot

Mario Balotelli threw the Euro 2012 Top Goalscorer market wide open after bagging a brace against the Germans in last night’s second semi-final.

The Manchester City striker is now best-priced 11/8 to win the Golden Boot at the tournament, and it is looking ever more likely given that he is the only player on three goals left in the tournament.

Other players in with a shout of finishing top goalscorer are the Spanish trio of Fernando Torres (10/1), Xabi Alonso (25/1) and Cesc Fabregas (16/1); all of which have two Euro 2012 goals to their name so far. [Read full article »]

6/1 for Lee Clark to lead Birmingham back to Premier League

Lee Clark has just been appointed as new Birmingham City manager, but bookmakers Bet365 certainly don’t fancy their chances of winning promotion back to the Premier League anytime soon.

Bet365 are offering odds of 6/1 for Lee Clark to lead Birmingham back to England’s top flight at the first time of asking, whilst they are offering 20/1 for them to win the Championship.

The price might seem fair, but die-hard Birmingham fans might well fancy having a tenner at that price, especially given that other bookmakers are offering odds of around 12/1 or 14/1. [Read full article »]

Royal Ascot 2012 – Day 5 Tips

Yesterday’s Royal Ascot NAP landed at 7/2 so now we’re looking to follow that up with another winning tip or three on the final day of the 2012 Royal Ascot meeting.

Australian superstar Black Caviar is the star of the show today, but with a current price of 1/5 (expected to go off around 1/9) we are not going to get rich backing that! Instead we’ll look for some value and hopefully find some decent each-way selctions in the other races.

If you are looking to have a bet on Black Caviar however, then check out Stan James‘ offer for today. Register with them, place a £100 bet on Black Caviar and if she loses they’ll refund the whole £100 stake in cash, so you can withdraw or re-invest as you wish. Click here for more details.
