City could steam-roll injury hit Latics side

Wigan Athletic host Man City in tonight’s live televised game and the home side have lost 6 of their last 7 against the reigning Premier League Champions.

During that run the Latics have managed just a single goal, failing to score against their opponent in their last five attempts.

Add to that Wigan’s injury concerns coming into this game and its easy to see why Man City are odds-on favourites (8/15 with Paddy Power) to leave with all three points.

Harry ‘Houdini’ to work his magic at first attempt?

Harry Redknapp begins what he has described as his ‘toughest job yet’ as he takes charge of his first game as QPR boss when they face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this evening.

He inherits a side that has made the worst ever start to a Premier League campaign, with just 4 points on the board from a possible 36.

Furthermore, QPR have failed to win a single game against Sunderland in their last 10 attempts (L7, D3 in all competitions).

Back Postiga to continue excellent home form against struggling Celta

Real Zaragoza come in to this game bang in form having won 4 of their last 6 (2 defeats coming to Barcelona and Real Madrid) and will be looking to rack up their 4th successive home win at La Romareda in tonight’s live La Liga game.

By contrast Celta Vigo have been struggling away from home and have yet to pick up a single point from their six away games in La Liga this season, conceding at least 2 goals in each.

Similarly, Manolo Jimenez’s side have conceded at least one goal in every league game this season, so there should be goals for both sides.

That said we fancy Zaragoza to win this game and at 11/10 (SkyBet) will be backing them to win rather than playing in the goals markets.

Beckham 9/1 to stay in US with NY Red Bulls

David Beckham has confirmed he is looking to end his six-year spell with LA Galaxy once the MLS Cup draws to an end next month and the rumours have already started to spread as to where he will be plying his trade next.

The Australian Football Federation last week claimed that they had been approached by the former England captain’s ‘camp’ with a view to him doing a stint in Oz, but Beckham and his spokesmen were quick to dismiss the rumours.

That said, SkyBet still make Melbourne Heart the 4/1 favourites in the “Beckham’s Next Club” betting and 5/1 that he ends up at Perth Glory.

Back the Hammers to continue their unbeaten run

Stoke City travel to Upton Park tonight looking to rack up their 50th win in the Premier League, but won’t find it easy against an in-form West Ham side who could go 5th with a win.

The Hammers are unbeaten in their six home games so far this season, having won three and drawn the remainder. And at 21/20 (Victor Chandler) they have to be the value bet to make it five wins from their last six home games against the Potters.
