Zaha 4/1 to make switch to The Emirates

Wilfried Zaha is one of the hottest prospects around and his recent England call up has only raised his profile even further.

It was somewhat of a surprise that he didn’t make the move  to the Premier League in the Summer transfer window, with West Brom, Aston Villa and Wigan all linked with player.

But after turning in another series of sterling performances and helping Crystal Place to the Championship top spot, his name is once being banded about with a whole host of Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Tottenham both 4/1 favourites to bag his signature according to William Hill.

Jim White – 20/1 to quote “Hold on to your hats” on deadline day

Let’s face it – this year’s Summer transfer window has been much more exciting than Winter’s was.

Yet with a little under 24 hours to go there is still a lot of business likely to be done as the rumours continue to spread.

And whilst the anticipation to the deadline builds, you can guarantee that no-one will get more excited that Sky Sports News’ very own ‘Mr Transfer Deadline Day’ himself, Jim White.

The only thing Jim loves more than transfer deadline day is a good deadline day cliché. And even given the amount of activity we’re expecting, Paddy Power’s special market on Jim’s first cliché might eclipse ANY transfer dealing on the night.

Some of the obvious frontrunners in this market include “Put pen to paper” (5/1), “Gary Cotterill outside Spurs Lodge” (33/1) and “Weighing up his options” (20/1).

A couple of others include “Spotted at the training ground” (18/1) and according to Paddy Power, the most likely, The clock is ticking” which heads the market at 7/2. [Read full article »]

The life and crimes of Joey Barton

Joey Barton has hit the headlines once again this week after tweeting about a possible move to Marseille, once which has now seemingly fallen through.

So whilst his future remains in doubt, we have taken a brief look back at the 29 year-old’s misdemeanors, all of which have contributed to his reputation. [Read full article »]

Van Persie odds-on to leave before start of season

Now that Euro 2012 is drawing to a close, eyes turn towards the start of the new Premier League season, and more importantly, who will come and go between now and August 18th.

One of the biggest ongoing ‘will he’/’won’t he’ sagas involves Arsenal’s star striker Robin Van Persie.

Arsene Wenger has been quoted as saying they won’t let him go, whilst RVP has himself mentioned his “love” of Arsenal. That said bookmakers Paddy Power still make him 4/6 to leave during the Summer transfer window (11/10 to stay), with Man City favourites to bag his signature.

Mancini would sureley love to add an out-an-out goalscorer to his squad and Paddy Power make them 2/1 to be Van Persie’s next club. [Read full article »]

Transfer Deadline Day is now one of the most eagerly anticipated days in the British football calender since the introduction of the Transfer Window.

3 ) Karl Fletcher spotted leaving Harchester United’s ground after agreeing a deal with Man City
