KLM Open 2014 – Preview and Tips

The European Tour heads to Kennemer GC in the Netherlands this week for the 2014 KLM Open.

It is a tournament that has always tended to attract a quality field, with Seve Ballesteros, Bernard Langer and Colin Montgomerie winning this event in the past.

This par-70 links course is a tight, windy track; one that requires a tactical and patient approach.

Players who try and drive their way around here will suffer.

Instead of focusing on big hitters,we should be looking for players with good previous links golf records, which leads us nicely on to this week’s picks…

Deutsche Bank Championship 2014 – Preview and Tips

The PGA Tour heads to Massachusetts this week for the 2nd leg of the Fed-Ex Cup Play-offs and despite struggling in The Barclays, Rory McIlroy comes into this as a strong pre-tournament favourite (9/2 – Paddy Power).

Hunter Mahan came out on top last week in New Jersey and is 25/1 (Coral) to record back to back victories, but the one player we’d like to have onside however would be Australian Jason Day.

Wyndham Championship 2014 – Preview & Tips

The Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina will play host to the 2014 renewal of the Wyndham Championship, with 2007 winner Brandt Snedeker heading the betting (12/1) for the final tournament of the regular PGA Tour season.

This par 70 course plays little over 7100 yards and so iron play and excellent putting are required to tame the undulating greens and win this tournament.

US PGA Championship 2014 – Trends

The fourth and final golf major of the year is on the horizon and that means it’s time for us to publish our trends for the 2014 US PGA Championship.

Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky will play host to this year’s renewal for the first time since Tiger Woods claimed his 2nd PGA title here in 2000, so whilst there aren’t many course-specific trends to fall back on, there are plenty of other stats to get stuck into!

The Par 71 course plays long at 7,458 yards and shares characteristics with a number of other courses used in previous US PGA Championships.
