Back the Baggies to pile pressure on Adkins

Tonight’s live TV game sees West Brom host Southampton at the Hawthorns and Coral‘s standout price of 3/4 looks huge if the form book is anything to go by.

The Saints have failed to win in their last six league visits to the Hawthorns, scoring just two goals, and we don’t see them getting anything from Steve Clarke’s men tonight either.

Southampton have conceded 26 goals already this season from their nine games, which is just short of 3 per game – the worst ever defensive record at this stage of a Premier League season.

West Brom meanwhile, have won 4 of their 5 home games, with their only defeat coming courtesy of a last minute Edin Dzeko goal as the Baggies went down 2-1 to Champions Man City last month.

Shane Long has been a live-wire for WBA and has scored the opening goal in three games this season; only Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher (4) has done so more often.

Long is 11/2 (Victor Chandler) to open the scoring again tonight and 13/8 (Boylesports) to score anytime.

So whilst the goals markets are hard to call, Coral‘s 3/4 for a home win looks a huge price and we strongly fancy West Brom to pile more pressure on Nigel Adkins, who is 11/4 to be the next manager to leave his position according to Victor Chandler.
