Kenny Dalglish 7/2 to be sacked next, 14/1 for Benitez return | Next Liverpool Manager Betting

Bookies have slashed the odds on Kenny Dalglish to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked following their 2-0 loss to Newcastle United in yesterday’s Super Sunday clash.

The defeat piled pressure on ‘King Kenny’ who is now 7/2 favourite to be the next manager to leave his post.

Kenny Dalglish has been cut from 6/1 in Stan James“Next Premier League Manager To Go” market after Liverpool’s awful run of form continued; one which has seen them lose 6 of their last 7 Premier League games.

Despite having already won the Carling Cup, and have a FA Cup semi-final to come when they face Merseyside rivals Everton at Wembley later this month, they find themselves 31 points behind the league leaders Manchester United and 16 points away from the fourth Champions League spot.

Only Aston Villa’s woeful run of form is preventing from Dalglish being favourite in this market, with Alex McLeish still heading the betting at 3/1.

Seemingly England-bound Harry Redknapp is next best (5/1) whilst the rest of the field are 16/1 or bigger.

Sky Bet’s Stephen Parkes said: “Things are going for bad to worse at Liverpool and punters have reacted quickly to back Dalglish to leave Anfield.

“Losing Pepe Reina to suspension for their FA Cup semi-final with Everton is yet another blow, especially given further cup glory is all they can really hope for now this season.”

Bookies have, albeit a little prematurely, opened their books on who will replace Dalglish in the Anfield hotseat, with Martin O’Neill surprisingly heading the betting with Paddy Power at 7/2.

The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is 11/2, whilst they go 14/1 about Rafa Benitez to make a shock return.
