Premier League 2012/13

After more than 40 years without a Premier League title to their name, Manchester City finally have bragging rights in the city of Manchester and the question is now whether they can go on and dominate the English game for years to come.

After the jubilation of winning the Premier League in the dying seconds of the season, all eyes will be on Manchester City to see if they are able to retain their title. This season will undoubtedly prove even tougher for Mancini’s side, as every opponent will do their utmost to deny them, trying to derail them whenever the opportunity arises and the Premier League Odds certainly reflect this.

The greatest threat for their crown is most likely to come from Manchester United and Chelsea. After a poor Premier League campaign last year, Chelsea will have strong title aspirations, especially after winning the Champions League against all the odds. With manager Roberto Di Matteo at the helm, Chelsea will be looking to once again break the Manchester dominance, and their chances have been bolstered with the arrival of Ligue 1 golden boy Eden Hazard.

Although the 2011/2012 season saw one of the greatest climaxes to a season, there is no reason why the coming season can’t match it. Manchester City will have to play even better than they did last year to retain their crown, in what looks to be another three horse race for the title.

Premier League Live Scores

At the other end of the table, the three newly promoted teams, Southampton, West Ham and Reading all look considerably stronger than the teams they have replaced and they will be no pushovers. The strength of these sides helps confirm the Premier League as one of the toughest, most competitive leagues in the world.

If the forthcoming season is half as exciting as the season just gone then as fans we are in for a real treat. But just who will be crowned Champions come may 2013?

Got something to say?
