Russia 7/5 to get off to winning start | Russia v Czech Rebublic Preview

Group A favourites Russia get their Euro 2012 campaign underway when they take on the Czech Republic later tonight and Dick Advocaat’s men are 7/5 (Victor Chandler) to get off to a winning start.

Their final warm up game saw them complete a 3-0 victory over Italy and they will be keen to get off to a good start here, looking to go even better than their semi-final place four years ago.

Alan Dzagoev has been impressing for CSKA Moscow again this season and the 21 year-old is likely to be instrumental in Russia’s tournament should they go far. He is 7/2 (Paddy Power) to net anytime and we fancy a small bet on him getting on the scoresheet.

The Czech’s have been backed in from 3/1 to 5/2 (Boylesports) to win this game, despite having a couple of injury concerns.

Striker Milan Baros, top scorer at the 2004 tournament, has been struggling with a muscle injury, whilst Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky is likely to recover from a calf injury in time.

That said we expect Russia to begin their Euro 2012 campaign with a win and 7/5 looks a decent price to do so.
