Super Mario now 11/8 to win Euro 2012 Golden Boot

Mario Balotelli threw the Euro 2012 Top Goalscorer market wide open after bagging a brace against the Germans in last night’s second semi-final.

The Manchester City striker is now best-priced 11/8 to win the Golden Boot at the tournament, and it is looking ever more likely given that he is the only player on three goals left in the tournament.

Other players in with a shout of finishing top goalscorer are the Spanish trio of Fernando Torres (10/1), Xabi Alonso (25/1) and Cesc Fabregas (16/1); all of which have two Euro 2012 goals to their name so far.

The Azzurri were much the better side against the Germans and are now 6/4 to go on and win the Tournament, whilst the Spanish remain odds-on favourites at 8/15 to make it three back-to-back tournament wins.

The Italy/Balotelli double was 500/1 just a fortnight ago, and even 100/1 before their semi-final against Germany got underway. Now though it is as short as just 5/2 with some bookies.

Got something to say?
