Gary Neville is a Scouser – FACT

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has Scouse roots… apparently.

The Liverpool-hating Sky Sports pundit was appearing on Sky One’s quiz show ‘A League of Their Own’ when host Jame Corden revealed that he is in fact a descendent of a great, great, great grandparent born in Liverpool.

Neville has been outspoken about his hatred for all things Liverpool in the past, including the classic line: “I can’t stand Liverpool, I can’t stand the people, I can’t stand anything to do with them.”

Back in 2006 he was also fined £5,000 for taunting opposition fans at Anfield whilst celebrating a goal. Classy.

When he found out that his relatives were in fact Scouse, he put his head in his hands shouting “f***” and refused the kind offer of a Liverpool shirt with his name on the back.

With that in mind we got our designers to mock up how Neville may have looked in a Liverpool shirt below. Feel free to link to the article on Facebook and share the obvious Neville-love!
