Ok, so this is a tongue-in-cheek look at football fan stereotypes. But how would you describe a Turkish football fan? Probably not like this…

At the weekend, instead of going for the traditional banner banter (one which would be confiscated on entry!), fans of Turkish side Karsıyaka decided to drag football hooliganism into the 21st century.

They revealed a giant QR code banner and within minutes had hundreds of fans scanning the banner to find out what the hidden message was.

Viewers were then directed to a website full of abusive language aimed at rival Göztepe fans.

Nice work. 10 out of 10 for imagination.
